Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. clicking links to webpages
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would like to see my web browser launch and go to that link rather than
gmdesk
rendering the web pages.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
v. 1.0.1. Macintosh PPC OSX 10.4.11

Please provide any additional information below.

Perhaps that would be an _option_ via a configuration setting, but per the
purpose of
the application, I don't think it should be the default behavior.

I agree with erichenao. I was astounded when I clicked on a link and it didn't
open in a browser window. I looked
for a setting to correct it and was again surprised when there wasn't one. It
makes gmdesk unusable to me.

I would really like to see this feature too!
I don't see any purpose in using GMDesk for now and not the webappliactions of
Google
Chrome

Related to this issue is that you can't download attachments from GMail.

AFAIK, AIR won't allow downloading of files...

I think to make it perfect we really need this feature, maybe a right click
open in browser? because it's
fine to quickly check a link although a lot of pages don't display properly in
an Air window but now it's
annoying to copy and paste urls in the web browser.
Please add this feature soon!
I love to use GMDesk!

I see the purpose of GMD is to separate Gmail from the browser. If it becomes
the
browser, it seems to defeat its own purpose. It should only show Google Apps
stuff
and that's it. Otherwise gmail might as well be a tab.

Right click for choosing whether to open this in GMdesk, or, open them in
selected
browser, or, save-as?

IMO, the inability of GMD to allow you to open links is a browser essentially
makes the program useless.

I agree, now I have to carefully copy paste links, which just sucks!
