Modified 3D printed Case #11

I modified the Case a bit and also added some Instructions for the Multicolor lables i made.

Bottom: Adjusted for 2mm thick PCB's Resized hole for M3 heatset inserts

Top: Made the cutouts above the screw terminals a bit smaller to better fit the Text. Everything is still accessible enough though. Added lables for the RJ45 ports, screw Terminals and a logo for the USB port of the ESP32

Some nice changes, I will review the changes and do a test print. Can you please create a bottom pcb with the original thickness? I think it was 1.6mm.

to be honest, I am not a big fan of too many different versions. That always raises too many questions ;-)

So my print just finished, i think i need to find a better font than arial for the text, some of the letters have parts that get too thin, which then cannot be filled with a color so i will do some adjustments there.

Sure i can make the bottom with heatsets and default thickness. Should i remove the 2mm version entirely or what do you mean with too many diffrent versions?

For now do not remove anything. I meant the many different top versions ;-). But lets see.

Beside the font, the multicolor print has potential 👍

Oh i think you misunderstand the top versions. There is only one top version called "top_with_labels.stl" That file has the text and logo's embossed/engraved in it. The other stl's are the text and logos as a seperate file, so the slicer can print them in a diffrent color instead of leaving the space where its engraved empty, you would fill it with the color. I guess maybe we could put the "main" file in a top folder and make a sub folder called multicolor and put the logo/text files in there.

For example "top_with_labels_usb_logo.stl" is just the USB icon and nothing else. This usb logo would just fill the cavity in the "top_with_labels.stl" so you can print it in a diffrent color, for example green.

In the Readme that i added i explained the options you have for printing and how they work. Is that enough to clear the confusion? I could also remove the multiple files, since you can also print multi color with the single multi color file, there you can do a "split to parts" but that way, you need to set a color for each letter in the slicer. The multi file option is easier in that you can set on color per logo/text file.

I have adjusted the Logos and Text to be bigger/thicker now, font is Arial i don't thick there is a better Font for 3D printing. Besides the USB logo, changing the size is pretty easy. I will throw it on the printer and test if that is good now. Bottom with default size and heatsets is also done. Will update the files when the Prints are done and i am happy with the Multicolor Print.

I think this size is good i am very happy with that. I will update the files later then and also try to make the structure more intuative if i can.

Text would probably be a bit sharper you print the color first. On the model the M for example has the same line width everywhere but after printing it looks a bit smaller in some areas, i am guessing that the black line cannot be printed thinner and thus invading the space of the green. Might play with the slicer settings on this. But overall happy with the size and looks. 20231106_162110

Edit: Just saw that my first layer was a bit too squished, that probably effected the smaller parts of the letters as the black was printed first. Here a view from the slicer. image

Here again, but this time with a better first layer. Its not so squished and the text looks a bit sharper now. I am really happy with that. IMG-20231107-WA0001~(1)
