Scale Organizationally into other cities #5

My current thought — let's recruit City Czars to add and moderate events in their cities.

(todo, in that case):

  1. Create a page explaining the role and asking folks to reach out to apply
  2. Give them guidelines on what we're looking for
  3. Grant them staff privileges to add and edit data in the admin

I started working on this today. I am making a new view similar to why that will detail the role and expectations. I will of course be looking for feedback and edits. Probably share it soon on Slack with @bahoo.

I don't know how to do the czar application form yet, but I am trying to interpret the add form to see the conventions. I assume the idea would be to make a database entry for every submission.

Writing the description of the role made me think there should be a way for normal users to flag events in need of moderator attention. Maybe this flag raises the attention of local City Czars or the site runners. I added an issue (#30) to address this.

I finished a first pass at the czar description and application on my fork. Looking for suggestions and wording changes before I make a pull request. @bahoo

Hey all, product manager out of Chicago. Found this project interesting, have a team of devs that might be interested in jumping in and helping. We're working on a few of our own projects. Would love to coordinate, even if it's just becoming the Chicago 'Czar' (going to need to rename that in the UI).
