I have the same exact issue as well - and no one has been able to explain why.
I'm running OSX Mountain Lion, with Chrome 23.0.1271.101

Sometimes images just show and hide while you move the mouse.

The shaking OP is referring to is a vertical motion. Not showing and hiding.

Sometimes, instead of shaking the images show and hide. It flickers or
blink so to speak. This happens while moving the mouse. Sometimes I need to
hover out the images a couple of times until it shows steadily. I wish I
could show you a capture when this occurs.

Hello!
The problem occurs when the zoomed image reaches the left or the right edge of
the chrome window.
There is a workaround, disabling the "Extend zoomed images below the mouse
cursor" function the problem never occurs again.

Hello. I believe I am having the same issue. When I hover over an image, it
will shake frantically. The only analogy I can give to describe it would be to
compare it to Parkinson disease.

As do I. The shaking is a couple of pixels left and right. Sometimes a
workaround is to mouse off the image, then mouse back on from the left side of
the image; other times this does not work.
