Different magazine in the same app

Is it possible to set-up different magazines in the same newsstand app, with each one having its own subscriptions ?

It would be possible but requires a lot of rewriting of the core baker framework. What are you looking at doing?

Also, how would you handle the newsstand stuff in such an app? How will you decide what the latest cover is that needs to ne shown?

Hi! In fact, I' thinking about to create a more modern sort of magazine, where readers "creates" there own magazine ; I would like to offer them the possibility to subscribe to the whole magazine, but also only to the sections they like. To do this each section of the mag (each story or article) is a subscription with a monthly issue. and if I subscribed to the whole mag, I have access to all of them as long as my subscription goes.

Benefit :

• people get what they like and pay only for it;
• I can post sections one by one to keep thing happening on a daily/weekly basis.
• We can track what works and what's not within the different section/stories of the mag.

Hi @pieterclaerhout Related to @NemoMag 's comment on making a trial (i.e. user can download the free trial and see only x number of pages, after which they are required to subscribe/buy), what would be your thoughts taking into account the latest revisions to the framework?

It would be interesting to hear your comments on what will be involved in potential integration of such feature.

@akeilox : the trial idea is not what I'm asking for. But it would also be a good idea ;-) (though I suspects it may requires quite a lot of rewriting as is deals either with the app and the content.)

In my case, the question is : can I sell subscriptions to the issues of the magazine, but also subscriptions to isolated articles from the mag ? In the shelf, people see the magazine issue, but also each section as a separate issues, that they can either buy or subscribe to.

I can do it without subscriptions : I create magazine issue, but also isolated section issues. then people can subscribe to the magazine, or buy the sections on a one by one basis. But the idea of people being able to subscribe to individual sections is quite interesting IMO.

and btw, it would allows more business for baker : not only single magazine owners , but also editors having several magazines... could be a premium (pay) version of Baker for ex.

Well, the categories things answers partly to this idea. And quite neatly.
