@mjallday I keep getting Access Denied
error on the preview site and some other paths. Can you take a look at it?

All I did was turn on website hosting for the S3 bucket.
@dmdj03 Can you post the most recent mock?
typo here:
With Balanced’s card processing, funds are avaialble (available)
@dmacquart :+1:
Some images look really low-resolution:
I'd like to do away with the "payments for marketplaces" moniker. @matin I heard you want to keep that. The first mock I saw satisfied what I think is the essential question:
Q: In one word, what does Balanced do? A: Payouts
I feel that we've tested and now understand that "marketplaces" is a bit confusing.
rather than a marketplace icon flowing into the money pot, perhaps an array of funding instrument icons, such as for bitcoin, credit cards, bank accounts, stored value accounts, etc
This feels like a carousel layout, but it isn't. I like it.
it does feel very focussed on payouts. i suspect that someone reading that page with no prior knowledge would not come away knowing that Balanced handles both sides, processing and payouts.
Also, I want to stress this is an interim design refresh geared towards a payouts focus. We will do more (i.e. customer testimonials/stories) in the full redesign.
I suppose this means that we're purposefully de-emphasizing everything but payouts? I'm with @mjallday , I think most people doing a quick scan of it would come away with us just doing payouts.
@kyungmin @dmdj03 let's converge the feedback and the conversation here on Github w/ the most recent mock. There are a lot of convos (hipchat, trello, email, in-person). Can you please post the most recent before everyone weighs in on an old mock? THANKS!!
@mjallday @timnguyen what's wrong with someone thinking we do only payouts?
@KimlingLam if you refresh the page, you should be seeing the updated mock
I like the idea of emphasizing the payout side. This said, this is a pretty radical departure from what we actually do: out of the 3 payout options we list, 2 are in development. should we not wait until push to card is live or at least announced?
@jkwade the revenue model? Also, I vaguely remember us doing something similar before and getting inbound confusion asking if we could do payments too. Makes me guess that we'd spend more time explaining what we do and that we lose some inbounds because they think we lack functionality.
@jkwade I feel like the concern is that payouts are already emphasized too much. You're taking it even further.
What about changing "FAST, EASY, MARKETPLACE PAYOUTS" to "MARKETPLACE PAYMENTS"?
The diagram and most of the other content already emphasize. That could create some balance.
@matin yep. trying to make a point :-)
"For stand-alone payouts, crowdfunding platforms, or online businesses connecting buyers and sellers"
this sounds like a mouthful. I suggest taking out "stand-alone payouts":
"For crowdfunding platforms and online businesses connecting buyers and sellers"
@timnguyen @mjallday @dmacquart @matin Sorry if I came off as flippant. I was just trying to make the point that conveying a single value prop, despite it being a departure form how we've identified and explained ourselves in the past, may have some value over trying to convey everything we do above the fold. I do not want to hide the fact we do payment processing, but I would like to have a serious discussion about minimizing it.
@dmacquart :+1: for removing "stand-alone" payouts
@matin I like your MARKETPLACE PAYMENTS. less words = better.
@jkwade 100% agree there is value in conveying a simple value prop rather than going for the everything but the kitchen sink approach...we just need to find the right balance as per @timnguyen
Suggested changes to hero image: Change "Fast, Easy Marketplace Payouts" ---> "Marketplace Payments" Revise the diagram. Change marketplace icon to a credit card. Put a marketplace icon in the center, with the spokes driving out to the sellers, chef, etc.
"But wait, there's more! Balanced also does payments!" :wink:
:beers: still have to go down a way to see the words "charge cards" but i think the largest text is much simpler and easy to understand.
@dmdj03 where does "Learn More" take you?
Looks good :smile:
@kyungmin @dmdj03 the latest mock still has a period in it after "Pay sellers, campaign organizers and service providers" - Can we remove the period as Damon and I discussed yesterday?
@KimlingLam yep
:+1: on getting rid of all those old graphics :)
@KimlingLam Are we ready to get this out?
Not yet. Will let you know when.
