HomeKit Secure Video Enhancement? #63

Open asander85 opened 2 years ago

Are there any plans to implement HomeKit Secure Video service to this plugin? If that can be activated, apple can take care of all the camera management and I believe that gives you two way communication, recordings, and better/faster response and notifications by default by storing everything on your icloud instead of locally. The plugin camera.ui supports HKSV, so I believe its doable. Just an enhancement reccomendation.

I hope I have some time to dedicate to this, but can't promise it will happen soon.

Fwiw, Cameraui handles the Vivint cameras really well but no support for 2 way audio or the doorbell functions. The Unifi protect plugin seems to handle HKSV very poorly relative to Cameraui but it does do 2 way audio and supports the Unifi doorbells. Would def use Cameraui as the base/model

So, I've found that unless you have cameras that are HKSV compatible, finding information on how they operate and the user interface is extremely hard to come by. I am getting the HKSV recordings, facial recognition, vehicles, animals, etc... but you are correct, no two way audio. Maybe I'll give it hat other plug-in a shot to see how the two way audio works, because it's like hot garbage thru Vivint's native app and environment.

How did you the rtsp feed links?

sundar2012 commented 2 years ago

The Vivint rtsp urls can be found in the logs.

Did you make sure debug mode is on in the homebridge ui settings? That is the only way to see the details in the logs.

I can confirm, the camera.ui plugin does not support two way audio, but it DOES support the doorbell notification. One I work with the dev to figure out what is going on w my vivint plugin, the vivint + camera.ui combo will be perfect.

Let me know if you figure out how to get the doorbell notifications to work?

Question, how did you get camera.ui to handle the doorbell notification? I couldn't figure out how to get it to trigger in HomeKit with the Vivint doorbell

Hi, great plug-in, my only issue is I can't ever get live video to play. It does snapshots fine. Any ideas?

The Vivint rtsp urls can be found in the logs.

seems that yesterday all my urls for Vivint cameras stopped working out of nowhere using ffmpeg. Enabled debug mode in Vivint plugin to capture the username/password again, but oddly the username is now showing root. I tried using vlc player to test the stream, but the username and passwords no longer work. For now im using the built in Vivint plugin for viewing cameras instead of ffmpeg, but I miss the custom settings to fine tune the video.

Anyone know how to capture the username/passwords again for the cameras? The debug mode now is showing wrong username and password for all my cameras in Vivint plugin.
