Enabling plugin causes music library to cease functioning #301

As per title. This is occurring on a completely fresh install of Volumio and the DSP plugin as it 28/2/2020.

Volumio 2.8.7.3 DSP for Volumio 1.9.3

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install Volumio fresh.
  2. Add songs to library.
  3. Install DSP for Volumio.
  4. Enable and reboot.
At this point the library still works. No filters are selected in the DSP plugin. I can play music without issue.
  5. Select filters for L and R channel, changed sampling rate to 96kHz to match filter.
  6. Reboot Now it all stops working. All mount points are still enabled. Sources lists 0 Artists and 0 Albums. No music is visible in the library. Unable to play the previously selected song that is still in the playlist. Attempts to rebuild the library via Update or Rescan buttons do nothing. Notification comes up to say the library is being updated / rebuilt but nothing happens.
  7. Disable DSP for Volumio and reboot.
  8. Library magically works again, music plays. 1257 Artists with 2056 Albums is visible in the sources. But ... the plugin doesn't work.

I feel like I've seen this issue pop up somewhere in these comments before???

Sorry for this late answers. Does it work with other sample rate? I don't work anymore on this version, I focus for the next buster version...

@balbuze Also sorry for the late reply. I've been having email problems and didn't get the notification. If you're working on a different version that's okay. I've worked around the issue. After a reboot / power outage, I simply disable the plugin, reboot again, and when the library is working then I re-enable the plugin. It's all fine as long as I don't reboot Volumio. A hassle but I'll live with it.

Looking forward to the next version :-), let me know where I can follow its progress.
