Etcher version: $ rpm -qa |grep balen balena-etcher-1.19.5-1.x86_64
Operating system and architecture: $ cat /etc/redhat-release Fedora release 39 (Thirty Nine) I am running i3wm
Image flashed: chromeos bin file
What do you think should have happened: run balen-etcher, select usb, select file to flash, flash completes
What happened: I use udiskie on my system, which automatically mounts my usb this is an 32GB usb, single fat32 partition :
Device Boot Start End Sectors Size Id Type /dev/sdb1 2048 60481535 60479488 28.8G b W95 FAT32
I unmount it first : [glaw@hive ~]$ sudo umount /run/media/glaw/0873-C904 Note - I've also reformatted as ext4 and still get the same error.
If I start etcher from my my system menu, nothing appears to happen after clicking "flash from file" but if I start from the command line :
[glaw@hive ~]$ balen-etcher
I click the "flash from file" and get the following gtk warnings - but nothing else happens : [728255:0307/122217.932369:ERROR:object_proxy.cc(577)] Failed to call method: org.freedesktop.DBus.StartServiceByName: object_path= /org/freedesktop/DBus: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: Could not activate remote peer: startup job failed.
