[BUG] Not listing mobile hotspots in list of wifi networks #410

Open alexcastillo opened 2 years ago

Hello!

We've been using this project in production for years, so thank you!

Many users have asked why they are not able to see their mobile hotspots (Android or iOS) listed as a network they can connect to. Why is that the case?

I've tested with many phones and computers with no luck.

Best, Alex

Anyone else experiencing this?

adammhaile commented 2 years ago

I've found that they will show up sometimes but not others. So it might be in the drop down list but then when it goes to connect it fails.

Thank you for chiming in, @adammhaile!

I've never seen any of my hotspots listed on the dropdown at all.

Maybe @majorz can give us any tips?

Reproduced on 3 identical devices - Cannot see WiFi Hotspot from iPhone 13 Pro running latest iOS 15.5 at the time of this post. Trying other hotspots.

Any updates on this issue would be appreciated.
