IMPORTANT: PLEASE search the existing issues (including closed ones) for
something similar before filing a new one.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install application on phone
2. Install desktop notifier on a machine
3. Install desktop notifier on another machine

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Notifiers seems to be using broadcast on port 10600 and sends the notification
on every computer that has the desktop notifier installed.
This is clearly badly designed and at least unusable except in a private
network. Users need to be aware of this issue before they download the software.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.2.4 / N/A

What i forgot to add is that this is the default behavior, it can be changed
but only communicate with one host but i still think this is an issue.

That's the default since it's simplest for most users to set up.
You can either set it to send to a single device (custom IP/hostname) or you
can use encryption in the next version - would that be enough? If so I'll merge
this with issue 24.

I realize that it is the simplest way to set it but you cannot trade privacy
for simplicity. The default behavior of this application is unacceptable and
users should be warned before using it. This is clearly a design flaw and
should be treated with high priority.

I'll be sure to add a note about it in the startup pop-up. I'm not changing the
default though - most users are using this over their private wifi (in which
privacy is not a big concern). Also, the setup documentation already mentions
it.

"most users are using this over their private wifi"
No one can possibly know this. I only opened this issue because this happened
at my workplace, i was able to read a lot of SMS messages on my desktop after
this app was featured on many sites and it became popular. Since it's marked as
WONTFIX i will not be bothering you anymore.
