Issues using a 2nd monitor #134

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Having an external monitor as primary
2. Ubuntu Linux
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The message appears on my notebook screen instead of my external screen which
I've set up as primary.

Please paste the application's log here (it should now be on your
clipboard):
I'm sending this from my phone, no log sorry.

What version of Android are you using?
2.2

Are you using the (unreleased) python desktop app, or the multiplatform app?

Anyway, the notifications are handled by the system (gnome in linux), so I
don't think we can do much about it in the app itself.

I don't really understand your first question, I've downloaded the 32-bit .deb
package.

I've figured out though that when I configure my external monitor (which is on
the right) to the left, the notifications do come in the right place. It just
sticks to the left desktop it seems.

No idea if this is a gnome issue, but thanks so far!

Ah, so you're using the multiplatform client (which is a separate project at
http://code.google.com/p/android-notifier-desktop/ ) - CCing the author.

See if this helps:

Lol, no problem.
I guess you are right about this being a Gnome issue. I was trying out some
mail clients last week and some of them notified me on the 'wrong' screen.

I'll wait and see though, thanks for your effort.
