Unable to receive Bluetooth Notifications on Epic4g

IMPORTANT: PLEASE search the existing issues (including closed ones) for
something similar before filing a new one.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.installed notifier on epic4g and PC
2.paired and connected via blue tooth
3.sent test notification from notifier on epic4g

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected notification to display.  
Saw error message An error ocurred while receiving bluetooth notification.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Android notifier Desktop 0.5.1

Please provide any additional information below.
I did install the patch (found here) to the same directory as the app is 
installed in.

I'm using Win XP OS on the computer.
There is an enabled firewall on this company computer.

issue 3 has reports about bluetooth issues in samsung phones, please star that 
one to get emails about this issue.
