cannot close app #246

I can't close this app when I'm done with it. I don't want it ALWAYS running.

IMHO android users should not manage which applications are running, it's done 
automatically by the system. If the app is using too much battery or something, 
it's a bug in the app and should be fixed in it without a need for a close 
button. Settings -> About phone -> Battery use shows which apps are using too 
much battery.

I think what he means is the service needs to be able to shut off easily. I 
know you guy say you are working on a widget to quickly shut off the service so 
that it's not broadcasting when we leave the house. I forget to shut mine off 
sometimes and I don't like the idea of telling everyone on a different wifi 
connection, what's happening on my phone.

In this case, you can enable encryption or use locale to set when/where 
android-notifier should send notifications (I'm not a locale user, sorry if 
that's not how it works).

It supports turning off the service in the preferences (the current version has 
 "stop service" / "disable notifications" so it stops and stays stopped, next 
version will have a single setting for both). It also supports doing that 
through the Locale plugin.

Leandro, btw, the system should manage activities, but the user should be able 
to control the service and turn it off when he wants (and that's already 
possible).

To put it simply, I would like the app out of the status bar when I'm not using 
it. (I have too much junk up there as is! Lol)

Just disable "show notification icon", it won't be in th e status bar anymore.
If the service is stopped (as I described above) the icon will also go away.
