The employee phone directory uses a manual process to update employee records. This hasn't been done in a few years. The process needs to be changed to import directly from AD for employee records. The DBA team has been tasked with creating a SQL Loader to pull this file in to keep the data current.

Known Issues:

AD uses a different ID for Agency then we use in this project
Our data does not match the source of truth so both AD and our Table are out of sync
Mail stop is no longer a valid field

@danfox01 tim is working on this, but he really isn't doing anything apart from serving as a poor man's analyst / project manager. The web service will remain the same, the database data is what is impacted.

@martypowell @danfox01 The update to this gem is that we have to wait for a manager to approve the wiping out of the data in prod to then dump in the new data. I mean this only became an issue because someone saw that the data was wrong and not up to date so lets make sure we go full circle to get someone to acknowledge that yes this is still an actual issue.

@tmccoy529 Purely out of curiosity, what ever happened to this?

@danfox01 absolutely nothing so far. Apparently its a much more "difficult and complex situation" then previously thought. Instead of just importing the AD file into our table and updating our departments table with the department values from the new database there needs to be weeks and months and possibly years of analysis on why this might end up being a problem. I believe the DBA side is waiting for the AD team to update all their departments before they can move forward. And AD is saying this is a county wide change and they cant just do it they need time to analyze. In the mean time we have stale data from 2016 and the County Executive isn't even in the system or all his new staff. Im sure it'll be fixed any day now.
