I have a desire to be able to control lights and other things based on the status of the different actions or statuses for the printer. Today, it would be good to be able to query or send a status via an API integration to give printing status, errors, etc. This would allow me for example to be able to turn on a light when the print starts and then shut it off when it stops. It would also be nice to be able to trigger other things like filtration being turned on or off based on the printer's status.
