RTSP Feed for printer cameras #1536

Open greghesp opened 1 year ago

greghesp commented 1 year ago

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. As a user, I cannot access the camera stream of my printer without using the Handy app or Bambu Studio

Describe the solution you'd like As a user, I would like to be able to access my devices camera via a RTSP stream locally. This should be available whilst the device is in LAN or Cloud Mode, and should have the option to be secured using credentials, without the need for Bambu Studio camera tools to forward on the stream

Describe alternatives you've considered There are no alternatives, due to the way this is currently implemented

Additional context This was originally raised here https://github.com/bambulab/BambuStudio/issues/1372, however the original poster decided to edit and close the issue for some reason. They then became toxic and it seems theirs GitHub account has been closed.

It had around 60 +1 comments and quite a lot of votes on the original post, so a much requested feature.

This feature is for the printer team, and is not a request for Bambu Studio.

As a developer of the Home Assistant integration, this is a much requested feature, but we are unable to implement this without a RTSP feed.

RTSP camera stream would be a huge addition. It is nothing against Handy, the app is great. But what I don't need a camera in my printer in my home office going up to the cloud, then back to my phone in my bedroom, so I can gaze at my prints. Getting the full array of sensors into Home Assistant is the ultimate goal as well.

Since I block all communication from my LAN to China (and others), the Handy app video stream does not work which makes me believe that even though my account is setup in North America, traffic is still being sent to the PRC. One, this should not be happening regardless, and two, I should be allowed to access my video stream while in LAN only mode.

There is login region in cloud service. To the printer, it is the same as the region setting of Studio/Handy which is used to bind the printer. If the printer is binded with Studio, the region can be changed here. image In your case, please make sure the region is set as "North America" when binding the printer. If the printer is binded with another region, please re-bind. If there is still communication to China in region "North America", can you please help export the LOG and create a ticket with the LOG (https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/x1/troubleshooting/export-failed-print-log-to-sd-card). BTW, how did you know the communication is to China? Could there be a miscalculation here?

jasonmooney commented 1 year ago

It would be nice to have a dashboard similar to a security system that can show 2, 4, or 8 cameras at the same time. Or one camera and cycle through ones with prints in progress.
