11 months ago I couldn't find this option in Cura 5.3.1. Which version are you using? Also can you give an example to show the strength of this pattern?

When supporting large flat areas close to the build plate supports tend to stick too well in some areas and leave pieces of support behind on the model
In cura there is an option called cross supports. This pattern acts like a spring and helps peel the supports off gradually so that nothing/less is left behind
The picture is an okay example, this technique works best on larger areas less than 5mm from the build plate.
