How to reproduce

I selected PLA for the print and generic PETG For the support/raft interface. Prime tower enabled. Tree supports on build plate only. When sliced at 0.2 standard layer height, all is well. The interface between tree support and part is a layer of PETG. But when I then change the layer height to .08 or .12 and slice, the slicer only uses PLA for the entire print, supports and support interfaces included. The slicer does the same thing if I switch the materials and make the part PETG and the support interface PLA. Appears to be an error.

Expected results

Expected PETG to be used for the support interface layer.

According to your description in #4803 , I guess the reason why the interface wan't generated is, that your model is a bit special that it didn't need much "regular interface", i.e. interfaces made of regular filaments instead of support materials like "Support for PLA". If you set top z distance to 0, it is assumed that you are using support materials and you are enforcing using interfaces everywhere. I need your 3mf to confirm, or you can confirm by yourself.
