I came across a video on Bilibili (a Chinese video platform similar to YouTube), where the creator complained about the ease of support removal in Bambu Studio 1.9.3 compared to later versions. Starting from Bambu Studio 1.9.4, support removal became more difficult. After checking the release notes, I found the reason: issue #4318 introduced a change from line-type interfaces to face-type interfaces, as shown in the comparison below:
The line-type interface is easier to remove but less suitable for large overhangs, while the face-type interface provides better support for overhangs but is harder to remove.
I noticed that Orca faces a similar issue to the current version of Bambu Studio (1.10.1). Therefore, I’d like to know your preference for support types. Please vote using the emojis below:
❤️ Vote for face-type (no changes needed).
🎉 Vote for line-type (bring back the line-type due to it's not a bug!).
🚀 Vote for adding an option to choose (so users can select the type they prefer).
