Idea: Add a new status bar #17

You asked for this somewhere, but I am a little unsure about the expected behavior changing the selection does.

Questions:

What should it do? Having an always visible combo box to select multiple accounts may "look great", but what effect should it have. The chat system is designed to always pick the same account the conversion was started with and having multiple account seems like a little niche for "regular users".

Please consider the options below and choose what you see fit:

Filter the peers timeline

Hide the contacts previously contacted with other account. This isn't very useful in itself and could hide some peers and cause confusion.

See if your accounts are "online"

This is mostly what the option did in the old UX. It was green, yellow or red if the server was reachable. However Ring accounts are almost always green unless you lost network access. Maybe the combobox isn't necessary and just "online"/"offline" would do.

The other effect it had was entries ordering of the auto completion/search. It is still relevant for the new "search" field above the peers timeline (not yet pushed in the testing branch). However IMHO, the order of 2 entries in the search box isn't really worth taking 9000 pixels on the screen.

Show it anyway (when there's multiple accounts, otherwise show online/offline)

I could just add it and it would be used as the default account for new calls.

Possible workaround

If this combo box is only useful to select the account when doing a video call (in case of Ring account, all it does is change the display name and photo), then maybe with turning the "call" button into a combobox for the 1% of users who have multiple account could be a better alternative?
