Movist can't play any movies at all #170

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. launch movist
2. open one random avi file
3. wait a couple of seconds for movist to crash

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect movist to play the video file instead of crashing.
What I get is the message from the operative system that tells me movist is
crashed.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Movist v0.6.8
The crash happens both with Tiger and Snow Leopard.

Please provide any additional information below.
The crash happens with all the avi files I tried, all of them are tv shows
episodes and all of them has srt subtitles with the same name
(tvshow.sXXeYY.avi) and all of them works fine with VLC or Quicktime and
Perian.

I've been using Movist on Leopard and Snow Leopard for like 2 or 3 years and
i've never experienced anything like this, nor seen it posted elsewhere here. :x

Did it work previously, or is this your first time trying it?

If the former, you could try the standard OS X troubleshooting step of deleting
Movist's preference files:

/Users/<yourname>/Library/Preferences/com.cocoable.Movist.LSSharedFileList.plist

/Users/<yourname>/Library/Preferences/com.cocoable.Movist.plist

If the latter... can you find/attach the Console output maybe? Console is under
/Applications/Utilities.

This is my first time trying Movist.
I tried to delete movist preferences, but nothing changed.
I enclose a report I get after a crash.
TIA
