Hi
at first great work. Ganttproject has made a great effort and progress since i
tested it the last time in 2006. Keep on as the past Years.
I'm currently perparing serveral grant proposals and outlining the required
efforts within a new research field. At this early stage of planning it does
not make sens to define the start and duration of single subprojects,
workpackages, tasks and subtasks in absolute dates. Usually they are defined in
project month relative to the project start.
Lets say tasks 5.1 starts at Month 1 of the project and finishes with the
deliverable at D5.1 due at month 6. Whether Mongh 6 will be December 2011,
April, June, November 2011 i can not yet tell at this early stage. I do not yet
know whether the project will be accepted at all, nor when the contracts and
consortium agreements will be signed. Never the less i do need a rough and
plausible overview of the different workpackages and major tasks therein of the
project.
Thus I request to add the possiblity to define the start and durations in
project months instead of absoulute dates. Further i suggests to add a switch
which allows to toggle the gantt diagram and perth diagram between displaying
Project month and absolute dates. Further i suggest to add a start data
parameter to the global project description and shifting the dates and
durations of all tasks relative to this date if it is changed.
