Won't appear in Unity on Ubuntu 11.10

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.  Download installation package for Ubuntu
2.  Select 'run'
3.  Select 'Install' in software manager.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect that I will be able to run the program from the GUI.  Instead, there 
is no way to access the program. Do I start the program from a terminal using a 
command string instead?  If so, how do I do that?
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I am using Ubuntu 11.10 OS on an Acer netbook.

Please provide any additional information below.

I use Kubuntu 11.10 myself and everything seems to be working for me. After 
installing, it takes a couple of seconds before KMenu picks up the new 
application and shows it. Clicking on the GanttProject menu entry starts the 
application without problems.

(I just tried ganttproject-praha_823-beta4-1_all.deb on a clean 11.10, at least 
did not had GanttProject installed on it yet)

Running GanttProject from a terminal, is also possible by just running the 
'ganttproject' command.

Please let us know whether your problem is solved or not with this information.

It seems that in Unity interface GanttProject for some reasons does not appear 
in the list of installed applications nor it is available through the Dash 
search. 

@Richard: yes, you can run GP from the command line. Just type "ganttproject" 
in the terminal.
