Timelines not bound to calendar dates #85

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Often projects don't have a precise start date, so it would be good to
compile the project with reference to a 0-day and see the amount of day
form day 0 instead of dates.

When the starting date is set it should be possible to define it and have
the grpah change accordingly.

As an alternative there should be a "Move all" option to shift ALL tasks of
a certain amount of days in the future or in the past.

There is one aspect from Issue 201 missing. There i requested not only defining
the start of tasks and durations relative to a day 0 but also to use Month
instead of days for start days and durations. Which i believe already has been
filed as a feature request otherwise i would have to file this in a new
request. Pleas let me know if this is necessary.

Thanks
Christoph

It is always nice to have one issue per one problem. There is no request about
task duration in months, so feel free to submit one.

I was about to submit a feature request regarding this but found this!
Additionally however, would it be possible even to have some Gantt charts
completely independent of dates/time. This would allow for projects that are
ongoing or non-urgent that just get worked on when you have time. That way no
deadlines are assigned, the project simply gets completed when it does.

I'm a newbie. Has this really been unresolved for 5 years? It seems pretty
important. Not a "must have," but very high on a "really useful to have" list.
