I can't reproduce this on my Linux. I'll try to reproduce on Windows tomorrow

So I tried on Windows 7 and could not reproduce either. Can you maybe record a
screencast or video showing the way to reproduce?

Having investigated further I have learnt:
1) Double clicking a task to left of the dot symbol does not cause the odd
behaviour I reported. (I was used to double-clicking in any of the fields in
the task line, which seemed to work fine until 2.7 beta III.)
2) Double clicking or using F2 in any field of a task to edit it, then clicking
once to the left of the dot (or on any other field in the task) makes the focus
jump to the first task of the project in 2.7 beta III Bld 1777, whereas doing
this in 2.7 beta II Bld 1731, does not move the focus away from the clicked
task.
3) The opening of the task property window of a task higher up the project is
just a side effect and a result of where the mouse pointer happens to be after
the focus shift to the top item of the project.
The video shows the behaviour of Build 1777.
Now I know that I have to click to the left of the dot to open the task
properties window this issue is much less of an inconvenience than I first
thought.

Correction :-) The issue is still quite a big inconvenience especially if you
want to open edit several fields of the same task one by one, by clicking in
them in turn. At the second field the focus will change to the top of the
project.

Closing all tickets with status "FeelFreeToTest". Feel free to reopen if the
issue is still reproducible.
