Struck at Installation of CM #6

I have been having a rough day installing MySQL Replication most of the morning, I skipped that part and continued with the installation of Cloudera Manager.

Even that is not progressing , with James's help i managed to overcome some mistakes and learned some more troubleshooting ;-) (bonus)

But overall this has totally slowed me down, first the OS issues , then DB issues and thought the GUI would be easy and no luck with it as well.

I am attaching the word document with screen shots and also attaching the log files (i renamed the .log to .txt) as it would not upload the .log file extension.

Last night i tried the setup again.

By not checking the second option on JDK page. "Install Java Unlimited Strength Encryption Policy Files"

It progressed and failed at the disk space... Could not figure out how to allocate more disk space to the nodes..

I removed all of that and created 3 new RHEL c3.Large and added them as nodes and it worked :-)

But when i started adding the services , i could only complete HDFS and it failed on YARN.

Steps to troubleshoot in completing my install

  1. Increase space on root partition 1a. Tried fixing the install wizard to install missing components by using the custom install options (didn't help much)
  2. Uninstall CM
  3. Install CM Lab trainer has assisted in a lot of trouble shooting and given new tips and ideas on handling the situation.

This issue can be closed now
