I'm having the same issue, I checked the debug folder and the reason appears to 
be
this for me:

Fatal error: Call to a member function isSetParameter() on a non-object in
/home/www/ogame_es_52.rel-0-8-1/html/game/include/backend.inc.php on line 68

I'm using Ubuntu with kernel 2.6.24-19-generic
