There's an option in Settings that I think does what you want. Let me know
On a second reading, I don't think I got you. You would like to have another option:
I'm not talking about GIFs. I mean embedded MP4 videos - right now they start on hover, regardless of the GIF setting.
Are you sure? MastoDeck differentiates videos and gifs (despite being the same type of file). Only gifs start playing and looping on mute on hover. Could you send me a URL of a message with a video to test?
I will, the next time i encounter one.
I have not yet encountered another video that autoplays on hover, GIFs however still do and i wish there was an option to play them on click only. Play on hover causes a notable CPU spike and hiccup when you just scroll down the timeline and encounter a GIF. As for videos, I'm still on the lookout - is it possible that a 2:30min with audio and all video has been tagged as GIF by accident?
...or basically anything - please leave the choice to me! Also play-on-hover doesn't even have any delay, which makes it even worse. Oh also it would be great if videos were indicated as such.
