Which resolution are you using? (important!)
1280x 960, 640x480 

Could the "black key" look from this thread be made default?

I made the keys dark grey in r1473 as I created those graphics for the Finnish 
translation. The keys could be a bit darker still, but now they match the 1x 
resolution version and look pretty nice. (And if you hate it, the original 
white keys are still there in -000b.pngs in 2x and 4x.
