3 years ago This is not a patcher issue, it is the problem of your GPU (GPU AMD Radeon HD 6770M)
These have not had any accelerations with Catalina and will not get it with Big Sur and additionally they lack completely the metal compatibility and a lot of software will simply not run or run with serious issues.
Change the GPU (https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/macos-11-big-sur-on-unsupported-macs-thread.2242172/post-28584549) or forget to use Mojave, Catalina or Big Sur with this machine.
@dosdude1 had placed a warning about using the Radeon 6xxx GPU with Mojave and Catalina so did we with Big Sur. Just check the first page of the thread yourself.
I have an issue with 2 almost identical iMacs 27 inches. First I installed Catalina on both of them using the patch, and everything went well, except when I ran for instance google maps from the Safari/Opera/Chrome it did not respond at all. The same story when trying google earth, or the built in maps in OS. Both iMacs responded exactly the same. Other than that Catalina was running well, using Youtube watching HD videos ran perfectly. (Same story when I installed Big Sur.) Then I did a new installation with Big Sur using your patch and everything installed perfectly after following all the instructions, applied the wifi patch, that also worked but when I tried the google earth and maps once again responded the same. Internet browsers will also respond weird on some websites. Any ideas or thoughts on what this could be?
P.S Im getting SSD drive with this afternoon for iMac and also gonna test that and see if that for some reason will make a difference.
