FileVault cannot be turned off in many cases once enabled.
If you want to upgrade, as per the README instructions, make a time machine backup of your drive, overwrite your drive with the updated copy of Big Sur and then restore the backup.
I reinstalled the whole system, but needed to do this on Mavericks on the Internet Recovery, the Installation of Big Sur doesn't allow me to do anything to the Drive without unlocking FileVault. But yes, here I am on a system without FileVault. Thanks!
Maybe my bad, but while installing Big Sur everything worked, so I haven't turn off FileVault and I could update to 11.1, but now with 11.2 available the Installation Manager after holding down Alt and starting the installation tells me to unlock my Drive, but with the right password in it won't let me install the update, the windows wobbles like the password is wrong. But I know its right and the Language selection is also right, when connecting to a new network in that installation point my keyboard puts in the correct letters. If I try to deactivate FileVault, but in the menu nothing happens. When trying it on terminal it just tells me it was not successful.
What can I do now? Would be happy and thankful for any suggestions
