Hey. I have the same model but failed with the installer is broken error after i enter the usb and try to upgrade from catalina(10.15.7)... (i have tried 11.6and11.6.1) Could you please tell me how did you suceeded, fresh install or upgrade (and any extra operations?)Thanks.

@sepcnt I just followed the README steps, I tried to fresh install Big Sur, upgrade from Catalina, both were OK. "the installer is broken" seems your USB may have some issues, you may try to erase, createinstallmedia, patch your USB again. Another option: try OpenCore Legacy Patcher. I have upgraded my MBP 2012 from 11.6 to Monterey 12.0.1 using OCLP. This powerful tool supports 10.7-12 macOS for officially unsupported models.

@ElfSundae Thanks, done :-)! backup, wipe the guid and format. then load my backup I guess my previous Windows Installation and efi modification could be the obstacle (OCLP? I tried yesterday but failed since my image had been patched. great option...)
