Hi Michael, althought it would be great to have an all in one place to see such rejections at MTA level, but I think you can achieve this quickly and effectively by putting in place a syslog server with a front end that would help anyone to see whatever they want, there are two solutions I would recommend: 1) graylog2: opensource and have a nice feature where you can set filters for each user to limit him accessing specific data from specific servers 2) splunk free version: very easy to setup, readable and flexible syslog server with a front end that your MS guys will love to use it for the exim reject logs ;)
IMHO a dedicated syslog frontend with search funtionality will give your MS admin guys more independence in searching for what they want and whenever they want giving you the piece of mind by letting you focus on more interesting things.
Seems like a good idea and I will look into it.
We havent had any real problems lately so not really an issue for us anymore. As Andrew have mentioned since we block at MTA the customer will be informed that there mail have been blocked so they should be able to fix the problem without having to contact us.
I'm wondering is would be possible to add something to the webinterface, to search what has been blocked by BL at the MTA level.
The reason is that I keep getting request from the Microsoft Admin people to search the Exim Reject log ... they are not familiar with the command line on linux.
Would this be hard to implement?
