This week, I had a closed mindset when I struggled with a coding problem. I felt frustrated and doubted my abilities, which made me want to give up. However, I switched to an open mindset when I asked a classmate for help during a group session. I accepted that it’s okay not to have all the answers immediately and that seeking help is part of the learning process. I’ve learned that I tend to get stuck when facing difficult problems, but I need to see challenges as opportunities for growth. Next time, I’ll remind myself that mistakes are part of learning and not a sign of failure. To overcome my barriers with live coding, I plan to practice coding more regularly to build confidence, focus on learning rather than perfection, and remind myself that mistakes are natural. A supportive message I’d share with a peer facing similar struggles is: “Hey, I know live coding can be tough. Remember, everyone makes mistakes, and it’s part of the learning process. Keep going, you’re doing great!”
