What is the state of the project? #1671

Is there any active development or maintenance happening? Does basho exist as a company?

Basho's gone, but people are still working on Riak. IIRC, Riak 2.2.5 was tagged and released recently.

Basho went bankrupt a year ago. bet365 bought the assets. A community team recently released riak-2.2.5, including open source multidatacentre replication. Pop into postriak.slack.com, or #riak on freenode, or post to the mailing list if you want to get involved. Most of the work on this repo (KV) is on develop-2.2 or develop-3.0

I am trying to get an invite to the postriak - though i am more interested in Riak TS. I am also not too certain on the differences or who is doing what for the dev of Riak. It is nice to see that it is still being developed!
