if it can find some of them, then I suspect it is a local firewall rules on the destination machines that is preventing it from communicating. Are they domain or workstation?
Also, you can enter the host properties manually.
How can I discover if my computers are domain or workstation? (they are Windows bases, without specific network settings..)
What do you mean with "you can enter the host properties manually"?
If you do not know if you are on a Domain, you are most likely not.. You are going to have to tell us something about your network tho .. By the sound of it you have 7 or 8 pcs.. correct? You probably have a hub, switch or router somewhere so that the pcs can talk to each other .. correct? (All PCs are connected to this hub, switch or router.. correct?) When you setup this small network, did you give each PC a IP Address or did they get there addresses from the router (or switch)? Did you name each PC? (Netbios Name) (Control Panel\System\computer name) We need to know the basics so we can better help you ..
There are some desktop and notebook computers in my LAN, based on a modem/router but for the most part connected to it through a pair switch (2 device on the first switch, 3-4 computers on the second switch). They all have static IP like 192.168.0.x while my router/gateway is 192.168.0.1.
Whet else?
The "search" function was just written as a convenience. You do not have to use it. Can you explain a little more exactly what you are doing and what problem you are facing? Host properties
Why can't Aquila WakeOnLAN work wake up/shutdown the computers in my LAN (about 7-8)?
The "Search for machines" gives UNKNOWN for most of them..
How can I investigate/set my computer to let the program works?
