Are you still working on this project related to Xpressnet - RS485 and 9-bit data on Arduino? #1

Hi,

I'm investigating uses for Xpressnet outside of commercial hardware from Lenz. Are you still working on implementing Xpressnet - RS485 on Arduino with the issue related to 8-bit vs. 9-bit data packets?

I believe the Roco Z21 and TCS CS-105 both support Xpressnet but I think they run at +/- 12v not down at 5v like I've seen a lot of people implementing RS485 in the Arduino world.

I'd like to hear about your experiences and which hats/shields you have tried for RS-485.

Maybe your work on Xpressnet is in a private repository. Are you interested in sharing your work with me?

Thanks!

I design my own PCBs. I do not yet have my own library. I started building one, but it is slow progress. I currently use the the one of phillip gahtow. But is not classified as open source or ment for commercial purposes.

I do made a lot of great projects. I made a listening device which allow a normal MM to set an entire street of points. I can use Xnet to automatically shuttle a train. That sort of stuff.

You can find geber files for a bare mininum Xnet PCB. Cost around 7 bucks to order 5 of em at JLCPCB

About the issues. You can let arduino support 9 bit mode. Somebody (nick gammon irrc) once made an alteration that the Rx and Tx buffer became 16 bit.

I am currently more in the market for loconet.
