Swiping on the left margin to change brightness is commen (used by Nickel and KoReader), intuitive and also way. more confortable than having to open the menu while reading to set brightness. While the "guess" action helps it's not perfect because for the same time you may want a more accurate or event completely different adjust. Same goes for the right swipe-warmth tint.
