This simplifies testing the library.

@ThomDietrich thanks for the comment, I added the check for the format of the MAC.

Sure thing 😃 Sorry for removing it again, after adding it I was not sure about the necessity in this short testing script. However now that it is there, it's for sure an improvement 👍
