I've made multiple attempts at downloading NeoDisc over the past few days and haven't managed to get a stable connection from the website https://neodisc.unil.ch/?page_id=32

I've tried from personal and University devices as well as University-hosted VMs and a HPC but none of these have managed to maintain the download connection. It usually downloads at about 100kb/s for a few minutes and then the download fails after receiving only a few megabytes of the 55GB file.

I also get frequent 504 Gateway Errors on the website, and sometimes I get past the email verification step but when I click the emailed URL to download the file the page loads as if I were a new user and asks for my user details before sending another email verification.

It would be very much appreciated if you could organise a more reliable download source - ideally providing a direct file URL so that a curl command could be used from a terminal rather than requiring a browser environment.

Thank you for reaching out and providing detailed feedback. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you’re experiencing with the NeoDisc download. The slow download speeds seem to be related to the geographic distance.

We are actively investigating these issues and looking into solutions to improve the stability of the download. In the meantime, please feel free to contact me directly at florian.huber@chuv.ch, and we’ll work together to find a temporary solution to get you access to NeoDisc as soon as possible.
