New idea and it's quite funny too:
QTPi
QT from the KORG QT series Arrangers which have customizable scaling for Middle Eastern scales (see here) QT standing for Quarter Tone since the scales have tones in between the 12 equal tone system. These arrangers later became rebranded to "Oriental" which is both better and worse but at least is more descriptive.
Pi because pretty much everything made for the Pi always seems to have Pi at the end of it, like .js for JavaScript stuff or Py for Python stuff, nerds are lazy/efficient.
Anyway it's a funny little name that doesn't seem to be taken by anything too major, especially in this field so it's a decent choice.
The QT in QTPi implies something to do with QT, the C++ UI framework, not great.
MaqamPi might be better, simply because our intention is to play Maqam-based music on a Pi, meaning our "target audience" is those who want to play Maqam-based music (or any other tonal music system).
It's not bad because it's absolutely the truth, one of the main reasons to buy a KORG QT or Oriental Keyboard is because of this functionality, now DAW or plugin allows it yet (as far as I can tell or remember) and the KORG's sounds are nothing revolutionary or groundbreaking, free soundfonts and other formats can be just as good. Only the arranger functionality is quite the killer feature but that's not our focus.
Current name is KorgPi, not bad but kind of problematic considering Korg is an actual company and isn't the only company that makes sampler synthesizers (just one of the best ones).
Better to change it to something more general purpose that still references the Pi, like MidiPi, or something along those lines.
