Hi @cage2, Stefan Monnier just sent me an email with a small list of changes, to make annotate.el work with MELPA.

Thanks for making the PR, this save me some time! And sorry for the inconvenience!

I just need to revert something and updating the Changelog and NEWS as usual and will merge that PR.
