Issue description

Hello,

First off thank you for everything Batocera is amazing.

I have an amazon TV box running the s905x3 chipset. It works about 95 percent. However when I try to copy over larger files (30mb to 1 gig) from any sort of way using SFTP (i used winscp and windows \batocera) the box hard freezes nothing in the UI is movable and I have to hard reboot it by unplugging and plugging back in.

This also occurs with the screen scraper utility provided in the GUI if I use the ScreenScraper DB it will do about 2 to 20 titles before it freezes up and is unusable same description as above.

I have tried to SSH to the box while it is in this state but it drops a connection so I cant get logs. If you know how i can get logs to help id be happy to help. Looking at the hardware information under system settings it says there is only 1 gig of usable memory however I know this is not true because I tested the amount of memory the box has using android (not sure if this helps but something i saw in investigation).

The boot file I am using is meson-sm1-h96-max.dtb <- this one was recommend on your website.

^above is the link to the box i am using

I do have gig speed and a stable internet connection SFTP has worked for my PC build of Batocera as well as screen scraper. I actually let screen scraper run all night to download all the videos and box art for SNES (no problem except on this s905x3 build).

Expected result

the expected result would obviously be to have the file transfers and screen scrapers finish the tasks without hard freezing.

Reproduction steps

  1. boot batocera off of the same box or architecture I am using
  2. connect to the internet or wifi
  3. copy over large files with WINSCP or windows \batocera\
  4. after about 2 to 10 minutes the box will hard freeze and be unresponsive shortly after you will loose connection to your SFTP
  5. Run the screen scraper utility with the screen scraper DB selected over a large collection 50 games should be overkill (the scrape for setting doesn't matter i only had community rating checked still froze)

Logs and data

i am not sure how to get you logs due to it hard freezing and dropping a internet connection. I'd be happy to provide if someone can walk me though how to get them

email me at blake8936@gmail.com if you need any more information

I have tried all the different boot files included in the batocera download and all only show 932 MB of memory. I have verified multiple times through android using AIDA64 and CMD to check how much ram all say 4 gigs

Try SCP mode, I tested it and it works fine. I have a TV box running the s905x2 chipset.

hey InvRetroBoy does it show the correct amount of ram because mine only shows 932 mb on a 4 gb machine

You need to change the correct DTB file.
