39 2024/02/29 09:19

Your architecture

Anbernic RG353M (RK3566)

Issue description

v39 won't boot on the RG353M. There is no rk3566-rg353m-linux.dtb file in the boot folder.

Detailed reproduction steps

  1. Download RK3568 build for Anbernic RG353 devices
  2. Burn the image to an SD card
  3. Insert the SD card to TF1/INT.
  4. Turn on the system
  5. It won't boot and remains black

Details of any attempts to fix this yourself

Details of any modifications you have made to Batocera.

I am able to get it to boot by duplicating the rk3566-rg353p-linux and renaming it as rk3566-rg353m-linux. there seem to be some quirks with this, and I imagine that there may need to be an RG353M-specific DTB for everything to work smoothly.

Does the v39 changelog mention support for the RG353M ? It's a rhetorical question... no, the RG353M is currently not supported. As per the issues, feature / functionality requests are for Discord.

Apologies. I was confused because it lists the download as applying to the RG353M here, and shows the device: https://batocera.org/download

dmanlfc commented 7 months ago

@maxengel yes I can see that would be confusing. I have asked for it to be removed as it's inaccurate.

there is no support for RG353M in v39?

SuperBadger77 commented 5 months ago

Hopefully to get RG353M to work it just needs the correct dtb file? Would love to get Batocera working on my RG353M.
