Another no audio through HDMI issue #7103

Closed ToontjeM closed 9 months ago

v35 native on an Intel NUC10i7FNK1 (https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/188808/intel-nuc-10-performance-kit-nuc10i7fnk.html?wapkw=nuc10i7fnk) connected to TV. Tried several HDMI cables. Audio through front panel jack is working fine if selected in Batocera.

@ToontjeM ?

I had same issue as well (Intel Comet Lake). I had tried a lot of suggestions in the audio issue page even running on beta 6 (w/ Kodi not working). One thing that works temporarily for me to hear audio on my HDMI TV is to create .asoundsrc and point everything to plughw:0,8 on all !default pcm ctl etc. This way I can hear a test sound on aplay -D plughw:0,8 but nothing from es etc. pw-mon does show ES is running on hdmi-extra-2. I think for ease of use, I suggest giving users GUI access for Pipewire/Wireplumber to see where the route is going via qjackctl/qpwgraph. Debugging this over trial and error is as good as solving Rubik's cube in the dark.
