TI99/A roms do not start in v36 on a Raspberry Pi 4 #8884

Issue: Launching any ti99/4a rom from the game selection list appears to start, then exits to the selection screen.

Expected result: The intended behavior would be for the chosen rom to execute.

Reproduction steps:

  1. Choose TI99/4A system from Emulationstation main screen.
  2. Choose any rom in the game selection screen, such as Hunt the Wumpus.
  3. Batocera starts the chosen rom with the Batocera splash screen, then 5 seconds later, returns user to the game selection screen.

Logs and data:

Taken from v36 Batocera on my Raspberry Pi 4. There is currently no way to test another emulator on this hardware.

ETA: Batocera reports there are no missing BIOS files. Both ti99_4a.zip and ti99_speech.zip are installed and recognized by Batocera.

did you try creating a directory at /userdata/bios/mame/samples ?

The samples directory already exists. Should there be something else inside that directory?

should now be fixed @66dude I have also disabled 32k mem expansion by default which for me stopped pac-man from running...
