Thank you for contributing to the Bazel repository! This issue has been marked as stale since it has not had any activity in the last 30 days. It will be closed in the next 7 days unless any other activity occurs or one of the following labels is added: "not stale", "awaiting-bazeler".
You should start your Docker container with the host platform set the same as the image platform. Add the argument --platform <platform>
to your docker run
commands.
Background and Issue
I was trying to execute Bazel on apple silicon (amd64) but it failed to build a docker image due to the arch of the python3 interpreter. So, I set up a Linux environment by using lima with the below YAML and then tried to execute Bazel on Lima (x86_64) just after I installed Bazelisk but it failed to connect to start the Bazel server. MacOS is Monterey.
Procedures to output error
Bazel version: 5.2.0 Bazelisk version: v1.15.0 Python: 3.10
There are no problems with an Internet connection and VPN, so what root cause could it be for the error? How do we tackle this issue? I'm also curious how other developers using M1 with apple silicon set up local development environments.
