Read speeds slow down to a halt, making most reads impossible, any help please? #160

Description of the problem

So, I'm using the Club 3D 2.5GbE adapter from the compatibility list with my DS920+, and I'm accessing my NAS by mapping the network drive in File Explorer with the IP address assigned to the Club 3D adapter in DSM. The write speeds are great, peaking around 200MB/s. However, the second I try to read anything, it gets instantly sluggish. I'll try to read a 2KB text file and Notepad will slow down to a halt, requiring a force quit, and then I go to reopen that same file and Notepad opens it instantly. And navigating too quickly through the filesystem will cause File Explorer to halt for a minute or two.

I consider myself pretty tech savy but I'm a noob with this particular issue, and my Googling isn't getting me anywhere, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the tip, but unfortunately an MTU of 9000 on both the NAS and PC didn't work, and seemed to make things worse. Overall, file access and folder navigation was slower than before. It performed better with the default MTU of 1500 so I changed it back.
