using the $.id path fails #50

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. have a json oject with id
2. use path $.id
3. jsonPath throws exception

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I should be able to get the field

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.9.0 on a mac

Please provide sample JSON. A unit test to prove your case would also be good.
